Today, we went to Linville Caverns. We had taken the kids there when they were little but they didn't remember going there so we went again. It is cool. The cave was discovered back in the 1800's and opened to the public in 1930's. It is 50 degrees in the cave year round. They have a bottomless pit in there that's filled with water and no one yet has ever found the bottom, due to it being so narrow down there.
We came back to the campground and made lunch. After that we went down to Boo-Boo's Pavillion and they had some great activities. First they had Uncle Sam's relay race, then they had a watermelon seed spitting contest. It was really funny, the winner spit his pit 32 feet, 3 inches. Well, my darling husband decided to do and it's on the video below...you'll get a good laugh...lol... Then they had a tug of war, which Cassie participated in and her team one! After that, they had a pie eating contest and Cassie & her new friend Madison did that one too! They didn't win, but they had fun...
Since, Zack wanted to come home to sing in church on Sunday, we decided to come home tonight instead of in the morning. So we left about 7:00 and got a head start on getting unpacked, laundry done etc. Below is a picture of the owners of Yogi Bear. They were super nice people. There 2 sons also work there. We want to thank them for a great week and we have booked us a site to go back on Halloween....
