Region Meet...Dorman Boys Win!!

Saturday was the Region Meet. The Dorman Boys Won!! The Dorman girls came in 3rd, after Mauldin & Spartan High. GO DORMAN!!

Zack also made State Consideration time for the 100 backstroke....GO ZACK!! He finds out this week whether he will swim in the state meet or not. His B relay team also has beaten the state time so he may go as an alternate. They only take 1 relay team, which is the A team, but they also take some alternates just in case. He has swam real well this summer/fall, especially since his injury this spring.

Girls Weekend @ Myrtle Beach!!

Thursday, Sheila & I took off and went to the Beach. We left after school and drove as far as Columbia and stopped at Monterray for dinner.

We made it to Oceanlakes at 9:45 in the pouring rain. We parked under the house but we had to carry up all of our things up 14 steps in the rain. We stayed at my friend Leesa's mothers beach house. It was really nice. It had 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.
1870 Neptune Road, Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach, SC was our home for 3 nights.

Nice big deck. We liked to rock in those chairs at night.

Friday, we rode around on the golf cart in the morning and checked out what was going on in Oceanlakes. They have a pool, indoor and outdoor, an arcade, a store, a laundromat, icecream parlor & a mini golf course....it has everything that you need. We ate lunch back at the house and then we went to the Aquarium. It was fun. Najgy, (Sheila's daughter) loved every minute of it...
Petting the Stingrays....

Jellyfish were nicer in this tank then on the beach ...lol

After that we went shopping at Broadway at the Beach. They have a lot of neat shops there. Cassie made another build a bear. We went to Captain George's Seafood for dinner. They have a buffet and it's all you can eat crab legs....it was good!

Saturday, we hung out at the beach all day. The weather was perfect. It wasn't too hot and it wasn't cold at all. I think we all got a little burnt. We also went to the pool and got icecream.
Mermaid Girl...
Saturday night, we went to Medieval Times. It's a show that has horses and knights. They gave us a feast of chicken, ribs, potatoes, garlic bread, soup and apple pie. They didn't give us any utensils so we had to eat with our hands. We were on the yellow team. Sunday, we went back to sit on the beach for a few hours. Then we went back to the house and packed up and got ready to go home. We went to Planet Hollywood for lunch before we headed back to Spartanburg. We all had a great time. We are looking forward to going back next summer and staying for a week.

Najgy holding Chelsea. She liked to "squeeze" her.

Byrnes vs Dorman

Last night was the meet against Byrnes High School. Dorman won, both boys & girls. So that's it, Dorman is undefeated! This weekend is the Region Meet, then the State Meet on October 11th.
Zack has been swimming hard since his collar bone injury. He has done well. I felt bad for him last night because he finally made the consideration time for backstroke and he got disqualified, he was moving at the start. So, he has one more chance this weekend to get the time. I hope that he makes it, we are proud of him either way....
This week has been busy for me. We had a couple extra catering jobs. We made baked spaghetti, garlic toast & carrot cake for Tuesday. We made chef salads & brownies for today and tomorrow we are doing pimento cheese sandwiches & banana pudding.
BUT after school, we are heading for the beach for a girl's weekend. My friend Sheila, her two daughters (Grace & Najgy), Cassie & puppy Chelsea are going to Myrtle Beach. There is no school on Friday so we are going down after school tomorrow and coming back on Sunday. We are planning to go to the aquarium and to Medieval Times. I will post all of the fun when I get back on Sunday.

Where's the Post?

I know many of my family & friends are coming to my blog and waiting for me to post something so that they can laugh or find out what I am up to. It seems like my life is just getting too busy to do anything. People ask me what I do and I want to say to them what don't I do? I am so thankful that I do not have to work a full-time job because I don't know how I would fit a job into my schedule.
I will take you thru my typical week.

Mondays: I get up at 6:30, take out the dogs, wake up the kids, take them to school. Come back home, put a load of laundry in the wash, clean the house, pay some bills, make a few phone calls. I then take a shower and either go to the grocery store or target for household stuff. If it's the first Monday of the month I go to a PTSO board meeting at Dorman. After school, I go to Dawkins, pick up Cassie and the Crady Kids, take them home. I then go home, think about dinner, take dogs out to potty, go pick up Zack at the YMCA downtown from swim practice. Come back, make dinner, help with homework, clean up after dinner, watch a little reality tv, & go to bed by 11:00.

Tuesdays: Same morning routine, if it's the second Tuesday of the Month, I go to the Dawkins PTO board meeting. If it's the fourth Tuesday, I go to sell ice cream at Dawkins from 11:20 -1:30. After school, I go to Dorman, pick up a bunch of swimmer kids, take them to the Y downtown. Same night routine basically. This week, I went to the Dorman open house.

Wednesdays: I get up a little earlier, take out dogs, get the kids up, take a shower, take the kids to school, go to Dawkins and volunteer in the office from 8-10. Come back home, make all my calls to see who wants lunch on Thurs/Fri. Then go meet Sheila, make list of the food we need, go to Sams & Food Lion, go back to her house and drop off food. After school, pick up at Dawkins, come home help with homework. Make desserts and other things for our lunch box business on Thurs/Fri. Take Cassie to church at 6, If I don't have to go to Y to pick up Zack then I stay at church with Cassie. Go home, pick up Zack take him to church for orchestra practice, go back home, cook dinner. Then go back to church to pick Zack up after practice. Then same night routine.

Thursdays: Same morning routine, go to Sheila's by 10:00, we assemble all the lunches for the day, put them in her van and go delivery all the lunch boxes. We are usually finished by 12:30. We go to lunch or go shopping. After school, back to Dorman, pick up Zack & Regan, go home. Go to the swim meet by 6, I am usually a timer. Stay for the meet, go eat after or go home and make Dinner etc. (same night routine). The meets only go thru the first week of October.

Fridays: same morning routine, go to Sheila's by 9:30, assemble lunches, deliver them, done by 12:30, go eat lunch, do some shopping etc. After school, pick up at Dawkins, take home Crady Kids, go back home. Pick up Zack at the Y at 6, go home. Fridays, I usually don't cook, we go out or get take-out.

Saturdays: If the kids aren't involved with anything, OR we aren't going camping, OR Sheila and I aren't catering, then I get to stay home and clean my house, do laundry and relax a little. I usually cook on Saturday, and either Zack or Cassie has a friend over.

Sundays: Get up take Zack to church by 7:30 (most of the time Scott takes him), get ready for church, I usually go to the 11:oo service. Go to church, sometimes we go out to lunch, if not, come home and make lunch. Sunday afternoons, I catch up on all I didn't do during the week. Sunday night, I take the kids back to church at 6 for choir, and then I have been going to the bible study class. We all get out at 7:30, go back home, cook dinner. Watch tv and go to bed.

On top of my part-time catering business, I also am a cruise agent. I don't sell alot of cruises but I do look up alot of cruise deals for people, so I am busy doing that a lot too.

So if you ever wonder what I do during the day, now you know....lol...So if you need to catch me, I always have my cell phone with me....

I also took Chelsea back to the vet on Wednesday. She has a little cold and it hasn't gotten much better. The vet gave her two more shots to try and knock it out. She is getting better but still is congested. Poor little thing. She has been gaining weight and she's fine during the day, playing with Kobe etc.

Zack had another Swim meet on Tuesday this week and the boys and girls both beat Mauldin. It was the cold, rainy day and they had their only outdoor meet that day. They were cold...but they did a great job. I don't think they have ever beat Mauldin before so that was a sweet victory for them.

Busy Weekend

During the school year, I look forward to the weekends especially Saturdays. That's the day I usually get caught up on laundry, clean the house and go grocery shopping but lately it seems like the weeks just fly by including the weekends.

Friday night was not a restful one. Chelsea kept me up coughing all night. She sounded like she was trying to cough up something and she acted like she was having a hard time sleeping and breathing so I was up checking on her a lot. Saturday morning I took her to the vet and she has a cold. I didn't know that dogs get colds. He gave her an antibiotic shot and gave me some antibiotics to give her for a few days plus some cough medicine. I had to laugh because it's the same antibiotics they give to kids...I hope she gets better soon, she sounds pitiful because she is so tiny.
Saturday Cassie & I also went to the preteen potluck picnic in the park. It was in Cleveland park. I hadn't been to that park in many years and it is very nice over there. They have a great playground, a train ride and a lot of picnic shelters that you can rent. They had about 60 people come from AMRBC. It was a nice day and the food was good.

Today we went to church then I went to lunch with Jennifer and about a dozen others from church. Tonight I went back to church for the 11 week bible study they are doing. So far, it's been great. I think that I am going to get a lot out of this study. I want to learn as much as possible. As a kid I grew up going between the Catholic Church and my friends churches (because they were more fun..) As a young adult & until a few years ago, I had been away from church except to go to weddings, funerals, or an occasional Easter Sundays. We have visited a few churches in the area and never really found one we wanted to go to until we went to Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church. Zack loves everything about it. He is active in the band, youth & the choir. Cassie is getting there, she likes the preteen ministry. She is involved in the choir and wed. nights but she hasn't wanted to go to Sunday School yet. I pray that my husband comes around one day and wants to go more. He has come several times to church with me, but most of the time I go by myself.

Well, time to go to bed...another busy week ahead.

Goodnight all!

Dorman VS Spartan High

Last night Dorman had a swim meet against Spartan High at the Swim Center. The Dorman boys won for the first time against Spartan High but the Dorman girls lost. It was a great meet. They all did a great job.

Zack swimming backstroke. Below is a video of Zack swimming in the medley relay. He went first swimming the backstroke. (He's the one in the light blue cap, in the 3rd lane)

Monday, I took Chelsea to the vet for a puppy wellness check to make sure that she was healthy and everything. She was...She weighed 1 lb. 8 oz. She'll probably weigh about 5 lbs. when she is grown. Cassie & I took her to Petco to get her a pink dress. I know what you are thinking....Yes, I am one of those people that dress my dogs....I think that it is cute. I need to get her some bows too...LOL

Our New Baby Girl

Yesterday we got a new baby girl, Chelsea. She is a Yorktese just like Kobe. In fact, she is Kobe's half sister. She was born on July 13th. She will be 8 weeks old on Sunday. It was kinda ironic that we were looking at getting another puppy, a playmate for Kobe, and the breeder that we bought Kobe from e-mailed me the said that I might want to see some pictures of his newest puppies. We were looking for a girl since we already had a boy. I e-mailed him back to ask him if they were the same parents as Kobe and it is the same father, different mother. So, there it was all layed out for me to get this puppy. Since he lives on the other side of Columbia (Bishopville) I asked him if he'd meet me in Columbia and sure enough he did.

She looks a lot like Kobe when he was a baby except she is a lot darker. I think she'll look more like the Yorkie instead of the Maltese.

We are excited to have her. She had a good first night and day today. She thinks Kobe is her mama. Kobe has had a lot of fun playing with her. He runs and she chases him everywhere.

She is so tiny (like 1lb.), it's hard to believe that Kobe was that small. Even though he only weighs 5 1/4 lbs. he looks huge compared to her.

I know those who know me are like...are you crazy? Like you didn't have enough to do already? But, I really wanted to get Kobe a playmate for when we aren't home. I asked the vet and he said that if we were thinking about getting a new puppy now is the time. The older he gets the more attached he will get to us and won't want another dog in the house. Of course the kids were excited, especially Cassie, my animal lover.

I'll upload a video tomorrow of Kobe & Chelsea playing in the grass...it's so cute.

Happy Labor Day to you all!

This weekend we went camping at Lake Hartwell State Park. We need to pray for more rain for that Lake. It was very sad to see how dried up that lake has become.

There used to be water all the way up this bank... The boat ramp has been closed in the campground because it is so low.

We took Zack's friend, Griffin, with us so that Zack would not be too "bored". They pretty much played XBox the entire time we were there. They did go on the jetski once and took five minute breaks to eat.

It's sad that kids these days do not know how to have fun without electronics. When I was a kid and went camping we used to play all kinds of games and have fun and didn't even have a tv in our camper.
My sister and her husband came up from Georgia to visit us at the campground. We hung out with them, even though it is still a little too hot to camp. We couldn't build a campfire because we were just too hot. Maybe in another month it will be good camping weather. They brought their dog, Rowdy to play with Kobe. He is a maltese.

Cassie says that we need to get Kobe a playmate. I told her that it will take lots of convincing her daddy of that one.

We got back from camping on Sunday night. Scott wanted to work today. I told him that he isn't suppose to labor on labor day but he says when you have work you need to do it. I guess with this economy we have to be thankful that he does have work.
