A Visit with my Aunts

Sunday, after church, we went over to my Aunt Annette's house in Pelzer. (she is the Aunt that went on the cruise with us)
My other Aunt, Kay & Uncle Pete came down to visit from Pennsylvania. We went over to see them and have some lunch.
They have not changed a bit since I was a little kid. They don't seem to age (only the hair gets lighter :) They are very special people. They have 2 children and 11 grandchildren!
It was nice to visit with them.

It nice to see everyone....Maybe next summer we can plan a trip up to Pennsylvania to see them and my cousins and ALL of their kids....

Happy 40th Sheila

On Friday, we took Sheila out for her 40th Birthday, which was yesterday, March 15th...

We started out at Fatz Cafe, one of Sheila's favorite restaurants...

Jennifer & Shannon got there before us and put the balloons on the table.

I stole all of this pictures from Jennifer :)...she got better pictures than I did :) Thanks, Jennifer!

Shannon arranging the balloons. Sheila & I walking in...I think she was a little surprised :)

I wasn't mean by getting her the "black" balloons, I got her the colorful 40th balloons lol...

Here we are...Michele, Ginger, Shannon, Allison, Me, Sheila & Tracy...Jennifer was taking the picture :)
There's Jennifer between Ginger & Shannon :)

Sheila got some cool switch flops from Jennifer, Shannon, Ree & Ginger. You can change up the strap and still have the same comfy flip flop...I got Sheila a nice bracelet...she loves jeweleryTracey got her a very nice purple shirt...

Also, Michele got her a nice glass pitcher with glasses to match. They have bubbles in the glass and a star fish on them :)

Sheila got strawberry shortcake for her birthday dessert.

After we left Fatz, we all went to see Madea's new movie, Madea Goes to Jail...It was hilarious...I think we all enjoyed it.

Anderson Mill Baptist Church

It's been an awesome week for Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church!

Last Sunday, after 2 years of attending church here, I walked to the front of the church and joined....

Wednesday, we had a ribbon cutting ceremony to our new church building across the street from the old building...

Friday night they had a student lead Worship service...

DJ with Mrs. Sara Loudermilk. She & her Husband, Rev. Floyd Loudermilk, founded our church over 20 years ago. They had their first church services in their own living room. Her husband is gone to be with the Lord and I'm sure he is smiling in heaven...

She cut the ribbon... :)

Today, was the first service in the church. There were 21 people being baptized this morning! Praise God...

I was unable to attend the first service, which I was sad about...I had to deliver a wedding cake that I had made to a wedding reception hall this morning and I didn't get it finished in time to go :(

Here's the cake that I made and the side cakes that Sheila made...we were able to make up the flowers last week so that they had plenty of time to harden...

Last Thursday night, Dorman High School hosted the annual Bandorama. All the bands in District 6 came together to have a concert. They all did really well...

Zack played with the Freshman Campus Band. Zack plays the tenor sax.

Zack also played with the High School Jazz Band. He was asked to be in the Jazz Band after Christmas. He enjoys this band most of all...well, besides the Church Band...

Snow in South Carolina!!!!

It started snowing yesterday about 5:30 and before 8:00 it had accumulated at least 3 inches. We went outside to "play" in the snow.

Cassie made a couple of snowmen....the puppies ran around in it until Kobe had small snowballs all attached to his feet and he couldn't walk....lol...

We could hear trees and limbs falling all around us....we prayed that the power wouldn't go out as most of the time when there is a storm in the south, the first thing to go is the power....

This morning we woke up and we still have power!!! Praise the Lord!

The snow does look beautiful though....we haven't had this much snow in a long time. I think we got 6 to 7"....

A neighbors tree fell down in the street....

The view of the cul-de-sac....

Cassie's two snowmen....

Well, I guess March is going with the saying in like a Lion out with a Lamb....It certainly came in that way.....hopefully it will get warm soon....

Last week I was looking at beautiful white sand beaches....this week I am looking at beautiful white covered lawns....Somehow, that is not quite the same!!

Enjoy the snow while it lasts....because in the south they will only be a few days.....
