Memorial Day Camping

Memorial Day we went camping with the Glovers and the Mondays at RiverCreek Campground in Lake Lure. The boys setting up camp....

On Saturday, Haley and her brother Nathan came up and hung out with us for the day. Zack & Haley playing pool.

They had a game room, and a playground...Tyler...

They also had tubing....but they didn't let the dam go on the weekends so we couldn't tube...

The dogs had fun too....The tent sites were nice too....they were covered...which was a blessing for Jennifer since it poured down rain on Sunday night...

We discovered that the Mondays brought some baby birds in a nest with them from pacolet....but the Momma didn't come with them. So the girls rescued them and then they had to feed them too. The sad thing is they lasted for 2 days then they all died but one...then he died the last day....poor baby birds....

Ginger & Ree's families came up on Sunday to spend the day with us. We all hung out on the rocks...

Sunday night we all played a game of volleyball. The people from next door played too. We had a great time. Didn't know we all still had it in us to play volleyball...lol...but we played about 5 games til it downpoured on us.....

Happy Halloween

We went camping at Yogi Bear in Marion, NC for Halloween Weekend. Since Zack was going away on a Church Retreat, we decided it would be fun to "borrow" a little guy to take with us...So we kidnapped Tyler early from school and took him with us. He was excited to go...he talked all the way there...lol...

They had the place nicely decorated when we arrived....The forecast was rain but we hoped it wouldn't rain. Robert, Elaine & Brian got up there a few hours before we did...

After we got all set up and decorated the camper, we went to get our "magic" pumpkin seeds so that we could plant them and they would grow before morning so that we could have a pumpkin to carve...

We rode to the "magic" place in the cart behind the tractor and walked into the woods where the good witch put a magic spell on the seeds..

Tyler planted his really well...he couldn't even find it after he planted it...

After dinner, we went to the pavilion to play BINGO...

Cassie won BINGO twice!! She was lucky...

Tyler had fun too.. He was close a lot of the time, and on the coverall, he only needed ONE more..

We went back to the camper to get ready for bed and Scott was trying to scare Tyler with a fake bloody hand when he was in the bathroom changing....So when Cassie went in, Tyler was trying to get her...lol

It took him all of 5 minutes to fall asleep...

The next morning, we went up to the Ranger's station and had donuts and hot cider with Yogi... Tyler didn't want to go near him at first, but then before we left he decided he liked him...

We went back to the pumpkin patch...and the pumpkins had grown....BIG...so Tyler tried to carry his back...

I cut the tops off the pumpkins for Cassie & Tyler and they had fun getting out all of the Goo...

After the Goo was out, Jennifer & Eric arrived and Tyler had a plan for his Daddy to what he wanted his pumpkin to look like...

And he did a great job!! Just like Tyler wanted...he chose 2 pictures and wanted to combine them, so Eric did!

After lunch we played some games at the pavilion....Tyler putting pumpkins in the basket with his feet...

Then they wrapped each other up like a Mummy....

The best game was bobbing for donuts....Tyler liked that one...

Brian had the ooey gooey chocolate one....He had it all over his face by the time he was done :)

After dinner, we went through the Haunted House and of course they scared all of us....Then Tyler had a ball dancing the electric slide and everything else....

Everyone brought their pumpkins back to the dance so we all could see what they looked like....There were so pretty cool ones..

After the dance, we went back to the camper and had dessert. Then Jennifer & Eric had to drive home and Tyler wasn't ready to go home yet....but he was asleep before they hit the main road. We had a great Halloween despite the rainy drizzle and the all the mud...It had stopped raining at the most important times of the day, so I am thankful for that. Also, it was so much fun to have a 7 year old to enjoy Halloween with....mine are getting "old" and they don't think it's so much fun anymore....

Zack had gone to Wise, Virginia with the Youth from our church on a weekend retreat. Brian Lambert helped Zack, Ryan, Zach & Stephen dress up as KISS and he did a fantastic job....

They looked really good...I wish I could have seen them in real life....but the pictures were awesome!!
