My nephew Dustin was the ring bearer...It's hard to believe that he turned 24 on August 27th...Happy Birthday, Dustin...
It was a great day. We went to Nantucket Island for our honeymoon. Five days after we got married, we moved to Greenville, South Carolina. We didn't have a job or furniture or much of anything....My Aunt was here in Piedmont and we stayed with her for a few days, we moved into a rental house, got jobs and have been in the South ever since... I thank God everyday for all that he has done for me & my family....Who I am to have been brought this far??

Back to School!!

Tuesday, it was Back to School day for my 2 kids!
Cassie went back to Dawkins Middle School in the 7th grade and got the team of teachers that Zack had when he was there. She's got a lot of her friends on her team so she is happy about that.. She is playing in the band again too... She will be moving up from the pre-teen to the Youth Program at church, so I am praying that she will want to get more involved...
Zack went to the "big" campus this year at Dorman High School. Since the Freshman Campus was separated from the sophomore, juniors and seniors last year, it's a whole new school for him. After a few days though, he seems to like it a lot. Lunch time is a little tricky with all of those kids, so he decided to take his lunch, that way he is sure to get it...lol...A lot of his friends didn't get to eat the first day. His schedule seems to be good too. He's taking advanced Spanish, AP English Comp, Algebra II and SC Best this semester. He's favorite part of the day is going off campus to the SC Best Bible Study Class...
He also got his license last Friday, so he will be driving himself to school very soon. (As soon as I can let him go...lol) He is swimming on the Dorman team after school. He will be very busy this fall with swimming, school and church...
As for me, I will be busy volunteering at Dawkins in the office, being on the PTO board at Dawkins, helping time at the swim meets, catering any of the school functions that are needed, and attending ladies bible studies at church. Also, hoping to have as many Aloette shows that I can...( I am needing to save as much money as I can for next years trips)...
Even though summer went by way too fast, I am looking forward to a great school year with my kids. I will be helping and encouraging them along the way!!

Happy Birthday Cassie

On Cassie's Birthday Day, Cassie, Zack, Memaw & I took her to Kanpai of Toyko for lunch....It's her favorite place to go....then her Daddy's took her out to Bojangles for dinner.....(That's her favorite place to go with Scott)....the Glover's also went with them too..... It was my Bunco night..

Cassie had a sleepover party on Friday for her Birthday. She wanted me to make her a purple cake with white polka dots and she didn't want any kind of bow...lol...

I took her and her friends to see Julie & Julia at Spartan 16. It was a cute movie. Then we came home, the girls swam in the pool, we ate pizza and then had some cake...

I thought since the girls would be up talking and giggling all night, that the best sleeping arrangement for us all would be for them to sleep in the camper...They went out there about 10:30 and they played cards, ate chips and had fun laughing and talking.
I think Cassie fell asleep at 3, another one at 4 and the other 2 at 5:30....SO glad they were in the camper instead of upstairs... LOL...

David Archuleta & Demi Lovato Concert

On August 4th, I took Cassie to see David Archuleta & Demi Lovato Concert at the Bi-lo Center in Greenville. This was part of her Birthday present. She enjoyed it a lot.
Mayci & Abby Nodine also went and made this sign for David....cute :)

Regan Seay and her friend Amanda, rode over with us too...

Jordan Pruitt came out first. She was good, she is from the Disney Channel...

Then David came out...he was REALLY good. We had awesome seats, 11 rows back from the Main stage and 4 rows back from the catwalk...He was close!

He has A LOT of energy....

He has come a long way since American Idol...

He sang for about an hour...

Demi was next. She was good too...Not my favorite but she did a good job....

She is a beautiful girl...

It was a fun night. We went out to Applebees before the concert with Wanda, her friend, Jennifer and Wanda's two girls....after the concert we stopped at Sonic for some ice cream!!

Lake Greenwood

On July 31st, we went on our first camping trip to the lake this year. We have been so busy that we haven't had a free weekend to go, so we went to Lake Greenwood.

Jennifer had told me that some friends of hers and Eric's were going to be down there too, what we didn't know was that they would be right across the street from us! There are 2 campgrounds, one quite large and the other small. Well, we were in the smaller one and the Owens (Jennifer's friends) parked right across the street...

It rained a little Friday night, and Saturday morning. Then the sun came out and it turned out to be a gorgeous day.

W.C. & Georgia came over to the campground on Saturday and picked us up in the Pontoon boat and took us over to their lake house.

We rode around on the boat for awhile, then we rode the jetskis...

W.C.

W.C.'s grandson, Nick and Scott. Nick is about the same age as Zack, he was about to turn 15..

Zack tried to waterski...He did a great job, but never did get up on the skis...It is very hard!

Georgia & Zack on the boat...

Cassie didn't want her picture taken, so she hid every time I got the camera out....

Zack drove the boat for awhile...He liked that!

There are some beautiful big houses on Lake Greenwood...

Zack also rode the tube behind the boat....

And he fell off....

Nick also tried to waterski...

It was a great day on the water....

Angela Thomas

On Tuesday, July 28th, I went with a bunch of ladies from AMRBC to see Angela Thomas in Greer. We met at Copper River Restaurant and had dinner first. Then we went over to the church.

Me, Denise, Jennifer & Kathi...We were waiting for Angela to come out and talk to us...

She was very funny...She's told us about her life being a single Mom and then getting married to her high school sweetheart...She also told us that we need to trade our ashes (bitterness) in for crown of beauty so we can show the Glory of God to those around us...

Baptism...

On Sunday, July 26th, I was baptized in a believer's Baptism at Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church...

It was awesome!! I was a nervous wreck though..there are A LOT of people that attend AMRBC...but being that it was summer, there were a lot of people out on vacations too...lol..

I believe that God sent me to AMRBC but the pastor, DJ Horton has helped to keep me there. He is an awesome Pastor...
I also owe a lot to my son, Zack. He is such a blessing to me! He was pushing for us to go to church about 2 1/2 yrs ago...He jumped in with both feet...He was saved 2 years ago at camp, Baptized a few months later, he sings in the youth choir, plays sax in the praise band, and loves to worship the Lord.
I know that it is suppose to be the other way around, where the parent is suppose to inspire the child spiritually but I didn't grow up in a church family myself and I do not have the knowledge that I should have about God's Word. I have been however learning as much as possible in the past 2 years. I enjoy going to bible studies, going to church and reading the bible.....My next step is to join a Sunday School Class and start serving where ever I am needed...
