Shrimp Boil Birthday Bash!!

Thursday, July 9th was Scott's 43rd Birthday!! We got him an ice cream cake and a turkey fryer!! I asked him what he wanted and since we had a great shrimp boil at the beach in a turkey fryer, he wanted to have one for his birthday.
So, I went looking for a turkey fryer...I thought this would be an easy task...WRONG.. well, I looked at Walmart, Lowe's & Home Depot and they all said that it was a seasonal thing. I understand that no one wants to fry a turkey in July, BUT since you can also boil seafood in it, why not sell them in the summer.....
So I posted a message on Facebook to see if anyone knew where I could get one, and I got some great tips....one was Academy....I checked there and BINGO they had it....so that's what he got for his birthday.
In the meantime, while I was looking my sister said she had one, but she lives in Georgia, and my mom had an electric one that she brought to my house. (I am glad now that I bought the gas one because we actually tried to use both and the electric one NEVER did boil the water, even after about 45 mins to and hour)

My brother in law and my two nephews came from Georgia on the new bikes...It was a long ride on a bike, they said their butts hurt lol...

Scott thought he was funny, he wanted his picture taken too on his "bike",which is Zack's old scooter lol...

Happy Birthday Honey....

Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach

On June 28th, we headed to Myrtle Beach for a weeks vacation at Ocean Lakes Campground. We had a great site, 2 spots back from the beach.
The weather was perfect. We didn't have any rain the entire week until the last night before we left.

Kobe & Cassie
I took some pictures of Zack & Cassie on the beach. I wanted to get a few so I could pick the best one for a possible Christmas Card picture...

I think this is my favorite.

We rented a golf cart. It was the best fun. We rode around a lot and even the dogs had fun riding...
We went to the BEST seafood restaurant on the Beach...Captain George's Seafood, across from Broadway at the Beach. It has the best crab legs, all you can eat...

They were easy to come out of the shell...

Sandcastle contest...these were the winners...it was pretty awesome....

Leesa McCarley and her friend Melanie were at the beach too. In fact, we saw a lot of people from Spartanburg at the beach. Oceanlakes is a popular spot...
On Friday, July 3rd, they had a golf cart parade...so we decorated the cart and headed to it....it was a lot of fun. We threw candy out to all the kids..

We went to Murrell's inlet one night to eat and ate at Bovine's, it is on the waterway. It was really good...
On Saturday, the 4th of July, the Nodine's came down to the beach and spent the day with us. They had fireworks up and down the beach as far as you could see. It was an awesome sight. They also had a band on the beach..
On Sunday, we went to Oceanside Village and spent the day with the Nodines, they were staying there. We all had a sand fight, it was pretty comical....people were thinking we were crazy, the adults throwing wet sand at each other with shovels....
Mayci was so cute in her bikini...

Abby & Cassie

Monday, July 6th, we headed back home. We had a great vacation. I thought being down there on the week of the 4th was going to be really busy and crowded but it wasn't too bad at all.
