I'm baaack!

I got back from my cruise on Sunday....It was a long ride home.

Here's what we did:

Day 1 & 2
Friday the 13th we left Spartanburg at 8:00 am and headed to Florida. We only stopped for gas and lunch thru a drive-thru and made it to Boca Raton by 6:30. We used 1 3/4 tanks of gas. (Gas is much higher in Florida $1.97)

We checked into the Marriott hotel (thanks Jennifer for getting us such a great rate) and went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner. We were happy to be out of the car and happy to be in warmer weather....

Day 2

We left the Marriott and traveled 20 minutes to Parkland where we left one of our vehicles at my sister-in-laws house. (it costs too much at the port to leave both vehicles). It was nice to see where she lived and to meet all of her furry kids...lol...she has 3 dogs...
Below is Bentley...he is the oldest dog she has...She had him when she lived on the Cape.

Then we travelled another 40 minutes to Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades to get on the Carnival Freedom ship for an 8 day adventure....

We were able to board the ship by 12:30 and have some lunch. The ship is fairly new and it had 3,500 passengers and about 1,700 crew people on board....the good news is only 100 kids this sailing....:)

We explored the ship, found our cabin, and then had to do the muster drill. We all felt like Spongebob with our life vests on....
We then set sail for the Caribbean.....

We had an early dining time at 6:00 and they had our reservation messed up....so we had it temporarily corrected for the day. Below was our dinner mates for the night.

Because it was Valentine's Day...they gave all of the women a red carnation...This is my sister with hers...Also, they made us a special chocolate dessert, which was very good!

After dinner, we went to see the welcome aboard show....it was good!

When we returned to our cabin, we found this cute animal waiting for us.....

It was a great first day...we didn't get too lost on the ship...Day 3 is a sea day!
