Where is Spring??
This Spring has been really weird....one day it's 78 degrees and the next it's 50, then the next day it's 70 again....
We had Spring Break from school last week, which is also weird. I don't understand why they don't have Spring Break around Easter. The kids should not have to go to school on Good Friday...
Anyhow, we normally try to go somewhere fun, usually a cruise on Spring Break every other year so this year was our off year.
We didn't do too much of anything, it was nice not to have to "run" around doing various activities.
Cassie mainly played games on the computer and wii, helped clean up her room, slept in late everyday and bugged me to take her for a ride in the convertible...
Zack, also, played a lot of games on the computer and xbox. He did however, attend a leadership training at church for 3 of the days, and the result was he taught the 12 graders on Sunday morning...Proud of him for that. He also helped pick up sticks in our yard, after he called 4 of his friends to help him :) lol...
Scott worked all week...and I had plans to spring clean the house but we got a phone call on Sunday saying that Scott's sister, Robin & her hubby, Andy were coming to spend the night with us on Tuesday on their way back from Florida....I had a great excuse NOT to start that...lol...
So Monday, I cleaned the house. Then I went to a Thirty-One party with Jennifer....
Tuesday, I went to lunch with the ladies from our bible study, and then came back and made a lasagna dinner for my sister-in-law and also my father-in-law. They all came over and had dinner :)
Wednesday, after they left to fly out of Charlotte, Cassie & I went to the great sale at Kohl's. I bought a bissell carpet cleaner for $100 less then the original price...
Thursday, we took it easy, did some laundry, went grocery shopping.....I played on the computer too :) I enjoy facebook a lot. There is a game on there called Farm Town. You get a tract of land where you can plant crops and have animals and trees etc. It has been fun "building" a farm so to speak....Zack & Cassie have their own too lol...we harvest each other's crops :) Thursday night, I went to play BUNCO with our ladies group. It is a fun game. We play the first Thursday of every month.
Friday, I tried out the new bissell and cleaned my carpets....WOW..it worked great. I had a few stains on my bedroom carpet and Cassie had a bunch on her carpet and they all came out!! It is as clean as it was when we moved in 9 years ago....That was worth the money...We have 2 small dogs so it will get used often :)
Saturday, Scott & I went with Jennifer & Eric to Brian & Marybeth's couples shower to celebrate their upcoming wedding.. It was at her mother's restaurant in Inman. The food was very good, and it was decorated very nice. Brian & Marybeth make a very cute couple....
Sunday, went to church. It was Palm Sunday. We praised the Lord and were reminded what Easter is all about and to keep our eyes on the cross this week. Also, to experience Easter as we should every day. To believe that our old life died when we accept the Lord as our savior and our new life began we when let him into our heart....Just as Jesus died on the Cross for us and then came back to forgive us....How awesome is that!
The weather for the weekend was very nice in the high 70's, so we rode around a lot in the new convertible. I have been wanting a convertible car for awhile now and Scott didn't seem to think that I would really like a convertible. He saw a used one on Craig's list a few weeks ago and it was a great deal, so we bought it. He figured if I didn't like it, we weren't out much and Zack would have a new car.... We put a radio in it, new tires, took the seats out to clean them and the carpet, used some touch up paint and now it looks rather good :) Well, I have REALLY enjoyed driving it...it is fun. We will see what it is like this summer in the 90+ degrees...
Zack gets his license this summer and I want him to drive my Expedition for awhile because it is much bigger and safer. After that, then he will probably drive it and then who know we might look for another newer convertible.....it's a lot better on gas then the Expedition that's for sure.
That was our Spring Break...How was yours? Did anyone go anywhere exciting???
