Thursday, we were at port in Colon, Panama. We docked at 7:00 am and we were off the ship by 8:00 to go on our excursion. It was an aerial tram and ecological tour of Panama. It was suppose to be a 5 hour tour but ended up being 8 hours! It was fun but I probably wouldn't do that one again....

We got this taken when we got off the ship...
We got on the bus and travelled 2 hours! We were about an hour into the tour when the bus stopped so people could go to the bathroom. We stopped at a gas station and the owner said that we could use the restrooms only IF we paid a quarter.....so we did....it was comical....
We got to the resort where the tour begin....below are some pictures of the lobby...

This was the backyard...

We then boarded this "bus" and it took us to the tram...

The trams fit 5 people plus a tour guide. It took us to the top of a mountain. We "heard" some monkeys in the distance but didn't see any. We did see a toucan flying around.

Below is our tour guide...

When we reached the top we got out of the tram and walked up this lookout tower...it was 95 feet high. It's hard to see but this is the bottom and we walked up each level where there is a hand rail....

When we got up there you could see the Panama canal...there was a cruise ship and a cargo ship passing through there....it was cool...

Annette & I at the top....

They have banana trees in Panama too.

We got back on the tram and it took us back to the bottom where there was a "mini" zoo kind of place. They had an Indian village, crocodiles, fish in aquariums, turtles, a butterfly observatory, greenhouse, and a some snakes...

This tree is called "bald" tree. They said if you take the bark and rub it on your skin, the hair will not grow back in that spot....HEY...I think they need to make soap out of it so we can use it on our legs and underarms lol...wouldn't that be nice...except I'm sure someone would use it on their head and then they would be bald forever.....lol..

This flower looks like lips...they said they also call it Angelina Jolie :)

We made it back to the ship just in time. Since the tour ran over the time, we didn't get to shop or anything else. Georgia & WC took a taxi to the locks and got to watch the boats go thru the canal...maybe next time, we will do that instead....

This was our animal for the day.
They had a party on the pool deck after dinner tonight. Also, a midnight buffet...I didn't get any pictures of the party....
Tomorrow is another sea day....heading back to Fort Lauderdale..... :(
