Weekend in Savannah

The weekend of February 18th-February 21st, we went to Savannah with Eric & Jennifer. She got us a beautiful room at the Doubletree. Scott loved that they gave you fresh warm chocolate chip cookies upon check-in and any other time that you wanted one....

The view from our room. The Savannah River Bridge....

Friday, we had gone to Tybee Island...It was a great place....

Jenn & I doing the YMCA...lol...

We went to Sting Ray's for lunch....it was sooo good..

The Pier at Tybee
Hopefully they don't ever see a category 5 hurricane....it would wipe everything out....

Love the Beach!! We need to go back in the summer to enjoy that...

We climbed the 178 steps to the top of the lighthouse!!!

Technology....lol...

Museum across from lighthouse...
We went to Spanky's for dinner....they had awesome chicken fingers....

We walked up and down these steps to River Street many times during the weekend...
This was in the lobby of our hotel...

Saturday, we went to the Paula Deen Store and then ate at her Restaurant, Lady & Sons.

My plate of food...she had alot of other "southern" things that I don't eat....it was very good :)
She wasn't there that weekend so I got a picture with her "poster" lol...

We left the restaurant and then went on a trolley tour...we could hop on hop off.....

St. Patrick's Day is a big deal in Savannah, so they were gearing up for it in a couple of weeks....The have the second largest parade in the US, second to New York City....

This is the park where Forest Gump sat on the bench.....

Fountain was purchased from a Sears and Roebuck Catalog...only 2 made in the world...

The southern tradition was if you came to visit someone and they put out the pineapple it was time for you to leave....

The only pink house in the district.....

This was an awesome church....

House ordered from Sears Catalog....they put the trim around the windows upside down...

Some friends from Maine, that I hadn't seen in a long time, came down to visit us too. They lived about 45 minutes from Savannah....Wendy & Randy Wasson

We took the free shuttle boat over to another hotel....
