Snow Day...

February 12th was a teacher work day for the kids. About 5:00 it started to snow...by 6:00 it looked like this.... It came down pretty fast. It was "real" snow this time, big fluffy flakes. Usually it's ice but not this time....By 10:00 we had over 4 1/2 inches....

The next morning it was a beautiful sight. The trees and the lawn were covered with a blanket of white....

We love the snow in the South because it disappears about as fast as it appears. By noontime, the roads were already bare and we went to the mall. By Sunday there were a few patches of snow and a bunch of snowmen on people's lawns. Then Sunday night/Monday morning we got some rain and the rest of the snow was gone.

I wonder if that is the end of the snow for the year or will we get more?? Last year we had snow in March...so you never know.....
